So you really think the 300$ price difference between the Samsung 6270 and this Sony XBR is clearly visible as far as PQ goes? I use Dell Ultrasharps for the last 10 years for reference.Specific Purpose contract – Expected duration - 2 YearsĪthlone Institute of Technology (AIT) has significantly expanded in size, scope and influence since its inception in the 1970s. Talking about the Phillips 40'', If it's the same model as I have in mind (BDM4065UC), it was also 699 this summer and I almost bought it, but finally decided to wait for BF. I wish I could see one to really take a clear decision. Well.you really know how to put doubt in my mind. Lots of picture tweaking and adjustment options, but everything is simple and where it should be. The UI and menu system is very well laid out.

The Sony really is an amazing set for the money. Where this Sony destroys the 4K 40" Philips is in every other category and it's not even close. But this Sony is sharper and the refresh rates and everything else was just as good as the Philips.

Which to me is absolutely amazing because the Philips got rated very highly when it came to it as a PC monitor and overall sharpness. I absolutely fell in love with that monitor but this Sony smashes it. The Sony is SO good used as a monitor, that when I put it side by side with my Philips, I looked at specific types of text and you couldn't even tell which was a monitor and which was a TV. I would normally say the refresh rate on TV's isn't as good and even though they would be close, text on a TV wouldn't be as sharp as a actual monitor.īut in the first two days owning this Sony, I've compared it to my 40" 4K Philips from Best Buy for $699 and the Sony is actually sharper when used as a PC monitor. What are the advantages/losses for using a TV as a computer monitor? I'm using a mid 2012 retina MBP
